Appldedore & Instow Regatta President's Welcome 2019

The Appledore & Instow Regatta Committee are very proud to present the 134th Appledore & Instow Regatta commencing 29th June 2019 and ending 17th August 2019 and we welcome you all from near and far.

Appledore & Instow Regatta can trace its routes back as far as 1831 when the earliest incarnation of the Regatta started in Ilfracombe with the 'North Devon Regatta'. The Appledore & Instow Regatta, the now time honoured local event, commenced in name in 1885 and since then, with the exception of two World Wars and periods of difficult economic decline, the Appledore & Instow Regatta has continued with relentless community spirit.

Appledore & Instow are very unique unspoilt Villages in many ways with an extensive shared maritime history that has been maintained against the tide of rapid continual change over many many years through traditional events like the Regatta.

So its with special thanks to the many Visitors who spend their summer holidays within the Appledore & Instow Villages and the wider local communities from the surrounding areas, taking part in the various Appledore & Instow Regatta events. It's so rewarding given all the effort to put on the Regatta to see so many people of all ages having fun and enjoying the moment and indeed these unique surroundings.

Appledore & Instow Villages provide a unique atmosphere and experience for everyone like no other, with our warm welcome, superb variety of shops, restaurants and pubs in our communities and miles of natural environment for you, your family and friends to enjoy during your stay.

Our special 'thank you' to all our Volunteers, Sponsors and Local Businesses and of course local communities who have continued to support the Regatta year after year without which the Regatta would not continue to be the success it is.

We are also grateful to the RNLI for their enduring support during the Regatta.

The Regatta Committee continually strive to make the Appledore & Instow Regatta and indeed your experience of these unique Villages a memorable one, creating an enjoyable atmosphere for all. So we hope you enjoy the 134th Appledore & Instow Regatta 2019 and that you have a memorable stay in Appledore, Instow and the surrounding area.
