The 2019 Regatta Events are finally over

This year saw the unfortunate cancellation of the main Regatta Day due to high winds and we also lost the model yachts competition for the same reason. The Harding Cup for Redwings was competed for over a weekend in June and next year we are hoping to expand this to a mini-series for traditionally rigged version of these boats. The two Gaffer races were successfully held at either end of August and the two Gig rowing events were both exciting in lots of different ways, with the Gig Sprints evening being particularly well attended by all the local clubs and a few from further afield. The World Championship Crabbing was a a well fought contest with the usual suspects under-performing or unable to attend there was a crowning of a new champion.

Thanks to all of you who volunteered, sponsored, attended or otherwise supported the running of this historic event. See you on August 16th 2020.

RNLI - Appledore Lifeboat Crews will be ever present during the Regatta and we thank them for their continued support.

We also thank W.E.A.R.A. and the many Rowing Clubs and Crews for their continued participation in the Appledore & Instow Regatta.

The Torridge River running between Appledore and Instow Villages is a tidal river, with extremely fast flowing waters and undercurrents, all year round, even at low tide. Care must be taken when entering the water.

The Appledore Instow Regatta supports the RNLI 'Respect the Water' Campaign, which is the RNLI national drowning prevention campaign highlighting the risks, helps you avoid them and gives advice to keep you and those around you safe.
